On the day after Labor Day, the San Diego Padres face a tough test, hosting the defending World Series Champion San Francisco Giants at PETCO Park. The Padres have a gifted pitching staff, and new arrival Cameron Maybin is an exciting young center fielder. The Giants are locked in a race for their second consecutive National League West crown, and they too have a strong pitching rotation. The Giants' lineup features third baseman Pablo "Kung Fu Panda" Sandoval, as well as outfielder Carlos Beltran, who joined the team this summer in a trade.
